What is Equine Acupressure

Equine acupressure is a gentle, non-invasive modality based on the same point system used in acupuncture. Instead of needles, acupressure uses finger pressure, hand contact, meridian tracing, and supportive touch to work with specific acupoints and energy pathways in the body. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, these pathways are called meridians. They connect different areas of the body and are associated with movement, emotional balance, organ systems, circulation of Qi, and whole-body wellness. In this course, you will learn how to understand these pathways in a practical way, locate important acupoints, use appropriate pressure, read the horse’s response, and create simple supportive acupressure sessions.

This course gives you the core knowledge needed to begin working safely and thoughtfully with horses, including point location, meridian tracing, session flow, contraindications, body language, and foundational protocols. The Advanced Animal Acupressure Academy program is a deeper practitioner-level pathway designed for students who are ready for more detailed TCM theory, advanced pattern recognition, case study development, multi-session planning, advanced point selection, and professional-level clinical reasoning. You do not need to take both courses, but many students choose to begin here first so they can build confidence before continuing into advanced study.
