What you'll learn
#1
Learn how photobiomodulation can be applied specifically over selected acupoints, allowing you to combine the point-selection knowledge you already use in acupressure with a different method of stimulation.
#2
Explore practical considerations including wavelength, device output, treatment area, dosage, and point selection so laser acupuncture is used intentionally rather than simply placing light over a point. The course material includes focused laser devices and introduces dosage considerations for superficial and deeper acupoints.
#3
Discover where laser acupuncture may fit within an equine session, particularly when working with sensitive horses, areas that are uncomfortable with direct pressure, neurological or nerve-focused cases, and situations where a non-contact or lower-contact approach may be useful.
About the course
Laser acupuncture combines photobiomodulation with traditional acupoint and meridian knowledge. Rather than stimulating a point through finger pressure alone, focused red or near-infrared light is directed over selected acupoints or meridian areas. This course explores how to choose points, apply light appropriately, understand the basic treatment parameters involved, and integrate laser acupuncture into an existing equine acupressure session. The emphasis is not on replacing hands-on acupressure. It is on giving you another method of working with the same point and meridian system you already understand.
Certification prerequisites
This is an advanced integration course, so previous foundational acupressure education is required. To receive certification in Equine Laser Acupuncture, you must also already hold a red light therapy or photobiomodulation certification. This ensures you enter the course with an existing understanding of light therapy safety, treatment parameters, device use, and professional considerations before applying that knowledge specifically to acupoints. This course does not replace comprehensive photobiomodulation education; its focus is specifically on the acupuncture and meridian application of light therapy. The original course material likewise distinguishes this training from a full standalone laser therapy certification. Looking for canine and feline application? Small Animal Advanced Acupressure Studies are available separately.
