About the course

Knowing what you observed during a session is one thing. Knowing how to document and communicate it professionally is another. This course helps equine wellness practitioners become more comfortable with veterinary and anatomical terminology, directional terms, professional charting, and clear clinical-style documentation. You’ll learn how to describe what you see and feel without diagnosing, organize treatment records, document the techniques and areas you worked with, record the horse’s responses, and create notes that are useful for both your own records and communication with other professionals.

What you’ll build confidence with

Veterinary and anatomical terminology becomes much easier when you understand how to actually use it in practice. We’ll work with terminology used to describe location, direction, structures, movement, and observations so your records become clearer and more consistent. You’ll also explore SOAP-style documentation, intake and consent records, treatment notes, documenting practitioner observations and owner feedback, recording modalities used during a session, and maintaining professional boundaries in the language you choose. A major focus is learning the difference between documenting an observation and making a diagnosis—an important skill for any complementary equine practitioner.
